The way that you speak to yourself about yourself and others makes a difference. You have a choice whether you live in bliss or live in hell. The acid test of this is to notice: do you emotionally feel residue when you think negative thoughts? Do negative thoughts generate more negative thoughts? How do you get out of the stinking thinking?

Here’s a path to an alternative reality:

  • Notice how you feel both emotionally and in your body  when your thoughts are negative
  • Be honest with yourself about what you see
  • Tell yourself the truth without reservation or defensiveness
  • Consider: if more negative thoughts aren’t helping, could positive thoughts work?
  • A positive framework involves how you speak to yourself in your own mind
  • Use loving nurturing thoughts directed to the places within that are uncomfortable or hurting
  • Within your discomfort, can you lovingly connect?
